Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) is a prestigious institution of higher education with profound historical heritage and renowned recognition both in China and abroad. Its origins can be traced back to Nanyang Public School, founded in Shanghai in 1896, which was renamed Jiao Tong University in 1921. In 1956, in response to the national strategy of developing Northwest China, the main body of the university relocated to Xi'an, Shaanxi, and was officially renamed Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1959. This westward relocation, hailed as a "Great March" in the history of Chinese higher education, forged the university's "Westward Relocation Spirit" — characterized by embracing national missions, selfless dedication, preserving traditions, and pioneering through hard work. Since the relocation, XJTU has remained rooted in western China while serving the nation, evolving into a comprehensive research-oriented university renowned for its strengths in engineering and offering a wide range of disciplines in science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, arts, education, and interdisciplinary studies. The university was selected as a key construction institution during the 7th and 8th Five-Year Plans, and was among the first batch of universities included in the national "211 Project", "985 Project", and "Double First-Class" Initiative as a Class A university.

In 1978, Xi'an Jiaotong University initiated management education and established the Systems Engineering Institute, marking the beginning of its management discipline development. In 1979, the university was approved as one of the first institutions in China to offer the Management Engineering program. The Department of Management Engineering was formally established in 1981 and began enrolling the first cohort of undergraduate students in this discipline. In 1984, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Xi'an Jiaotong University re-established its School of Management, becoming one of the earliest management schools in China. In terms of international accreditation and disciplinary development, the school achieved initial AACSB international accreditation in 2011, followed by successful maintenance accreditation in 2016. That same year, it also earned the QS Stars Five-Star Business School certification, becoming the first business school in China to receive this honor. In both the 2017 and 2022 rounds of the national "Double First-Class" initiative, the school's two first-level disciplines—Management Science and Engineering and Business Administration—were consecutively included in the list of "Double First-Class" construction disciplines. Looking ahead, the School of Management is committed to building a world-class management school that leads in management research, attracts outstanding talent in management education, and demonstrates excellence in social contribution.

Located in the heartland of inland China, Shaanxi Province is one of the important birthplaces of the Chinese nation and Huaxia civilization. Historically, Shaanxi served as the capital region for thirteen dynasties, including the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang, preserving a legacy of brilliant civilizations. As a transportation hub connecting eastern China with the northwest and southwest regions, Shaanxi not only possesses abundant energy and mineral resources but also serves as a key national base for aerospace, equipment manufacturing, technological innovation, and more. Additionally, Shaanxi is endowed with the natural barrier and ecological resources of the Qinling Mountains, forming a unique geographical and cultural landscape. In the new era, Shaanxi continues to promote western development and pursue high-quality development.

Xi'an, a world-renowned historical and cultural city formerly known as Chang'an, served as the capital of 13 ancient dynasties and carries the continuous lineage of Chinese civilization over millennia. As the starting point of the Silk Road, it hosts numerous cultural heritage sites including the Terracotta Warriors, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, and Ming Dynasty City Wall, earning its reputation as a "natural history museum." Today, Xi'an serves not only as the political, economic, and cultural center of Shaanxi Province, but also as a key national base for scientific research, higher education, and high-tech industries. The conference will be held at Shaanxi Hotel in the Xi'an High-Tech Development Zone, and we look forward to welcoming management scholars and experts from around the world for academic exchange and collaboration.
